What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in many plants, though many people commonly associate them with cannabis because cannabis plants contain high concentrations. These aromatic compounds create the characteristic scent of many plants, such as cannabis, pine, and lavender, as well as fresh orange peel.
How to use Terpenes?
Terpenes are potent and are pretty tricky to use. They can potentially be harmful, so you should be very careful when using them.
Terpenes come as standard in a 1ml bottle which tells you that a little goes a long way. It would be best if you never ingested the terpenes neat/undiluted.
Terpenes should be added to a liquid, oil or extract. It is always best to add small amounts and build the flavour up gradually 1 – 3% is usually good enough.
The best way to add terpenes to your oils is to add one or two drops into a larger tub of the finished product. Mix well and try. If you need more, then add it.
Some users in the UK add terpenes to herbs to give them a more potent fruity smell.
