Can we beat Monday Blues (YES, WE CAN)?

So many people loath the idea of the mundane Monday mornings, whether they work a 9-5 job or work from home.  A study even reported that Monday mornings are so dismal that employees only have about three-and-a-half hours of productive work time. (1)

If your searching for Monday morning blues then the chances of you having the same views as I used to have, will be high. When speaking to other people about Monday morning blues, they all say they start to feel it late Sunday evening, dreading the start of the week.  How we finish our weekend and how we start our week sets up our tone for the whole week. Make your Sunday evenings positive, and your thoughts going to bed, to your thoughts when first waking up, good ones.

There are many ways we can try and improve our Monday mornings and help to set up you for a happier, more productive week.  In this blog, we’re going to share some ideas with you, that you may not have tried before, including how CBD could help.

Sunday Selfcare

Take Sundays slow, allow yourself to rest, relax and refocus for the week starting, to help prevent that Monday morning blues. One thing that can help is to end Sundays is with a nice relaxed bath to help improve the atmosphere before bed. Bath time can be a nice chill time. Whether you like bubble baths, or bath bombs, I find it helps relax and unwind before sleep. A popular product in our company is the Lavender 100mg CBD Bath Bombs. There is research to say Lavender can help relax and help sleep. The Lavender works as an anxiolytic (an anxiety reliever) and as a sedative, to increase relaxation and calm, and help bring about sleep. (2)

So whether you’re a bath bomb (Lavender) lover or not make sure you take a nice hot bath to help relax.

Getting the right amount of sleep to start your week is vital to help keep them Monday morning blues away. Switch off from social media a few hours before bed, take that nice bath. Have you always struggled to sleep? Have you thought about supplementing CBD?

Research Trusted Source published in 2019 looked at whether CBD could improve sleep and or reduce anxiety. The study involved 72 subjects, with 47 experiencing anxiety and 25 experiencing poor sleep. The subjects were each given 25 milligrams (mg) of CBD in capsule form each day. In the first month, 79.2 percent of the patients reported lower anxiety levels and 66.7 percent reported better sleep. (3)

It is advised to take CBD at least an hour before bed, also each individual needs to work out the dose that may help them so start low and work up if need to.

How many Mondays have you regretted missing the gym or your morning run? Have you wished you hadn’t snoozed that alarm and instead got up? I can guarantee you will never regret getting up and doing your daily work out regime, whether that’s a run, the gym or some exercises at home. Monday morning blues can affect your attitude towards the stuff we love, the anxiety of starting a new week. Wishing it was still the weekend. Changing your habits on a Monday can help you regain that positivity to start your week. If you don’t normally exercise on a Monday morning, its advisable to start. It gets your endorphins flowing and energising your morning.

A new survey carried out said that 50% of Britain’s claim they do not have time for breakfast. (4)

We have all herd that saying growing up, you should not skip breakfast, it’s the most important meal of the day.

“when blood sugar drops, your mood will be effected”

“Your energy levels will drop, as well as your cognitive function”

Don’t have time to eat on a morning, grab a banana and a protein bar.

Bananas can help greatly evaluate the mood as they regulate the release of chemicals, serotonin by supplying tryptophan to they body. Bananas are considered as super foods as they contain high amounts of essential nutrients. (5)

I also like to start my day with a nice herbal tea, not too much caffeine as I can find the caffeine can trigger anxiety. ( I make sure I have this before I wake the kids up for school. Your quiet time before the madness I find helps keep my moods good on a Monday morning.

Dress to impress

How we look can affect how we feel. So, dressing in that outfit that makes you ooze with confidence will help beat that Monday Blues. In fact, “psychologists conclude that the strong link between clothing and mood suggests we should put on clothes that we associate with happiness, even when feeling low.” In short, what better day than a Monday to wear what makes you feel great! (6)

There are many ways in which we can help improve the Monday Blues. I have spoke about a few above, I find these help me personally. Everyone will like to do different things on their Monday mornings, it is finding out what works for you.

A few other examples, start your day with positive affirmations, end your Sunday evenings with reading motivational books. Smile more, give more compliments, list what your grateful for. Drink plenty of fluids and most importantly do not forget to take your daily supplements.
